* An independent secondary school in Brecon is to receive a “seven figure” legacy from a former pupil. The 320-pupil Christ College will use the cash to establish up to 13 bursaries for science students. A third of pupils at the pound;11,250-a-year school already go on to science degrees. The legacy was left by the widow of Old Breconian David Hubert Jones, who established a successful pharmacy business in west Wales.
