Bodies, rest and motion

Breakdancing to brass music and international online collaboration are just two of the exciting offerings at this year's International Youth Arts Festival (29 June to 22 July), which features three Cultural Olympiad projects: Bodies in Motion merges three performances taking place simultaneously in Kingston upon Thames, Michigan and the Netherlands; Illumination is a dance work illustrating the life of sculptor Dora Gordine; and Showtime offers free outdoor performances including an improvisation relay between poets, musicians and street artists. There are 350 events planned across 15 venues. For more information, go to www.iyafestival.org.uk.
