* The City of Edinburgh Swimming club has recruited Frenchman Frederic Vergnoux as its new head coach. M Vergnoux, who was coach to top French club CS Clichy 92 and a former national coach to Belarus, took up his appointment last month. Part of his remit will be to bring on young swimmers at the club, having worked in France on the development and performance of swimmers aged 9 upwards.
