Class tactics in pay rise dispute

TEACHERS from across Russia this week protested against low wages and proposed education reforms by delaying morning classes and picketing government offices. Last year, the average monthly teache's salary was the equivalent of pound;20, one of the lowest among the country's workforce. The Union of Education and Science Workers wants a 50 per cent pay hike for all education workers.
