More than 200,000 fewer primary pupils than last year are in classes of over 30, according to new govern-ment statistics. David Blunkett, Education and Employmet Secretary, said it showed the Government was on track to deliver its pledge of no five-to- seven-year-olds in classes of more than 30 by September.
