GRIMSBY College is to launch a new television production company broadcasting weekly to thousands of homes in Lincolnshire.

Called ECE (Education Community and Entertainment), the new facility will be staffed by manager John Hamlin and five national vocational qualification level 4 broadcast journalism trainees.

Starting in November, it will broadcast for an hour a week on local cable station Channel Seven which is received by around 20,000 people in the area.

The team aim to produce feelgood programmes on all aspects of college life. Student Keely Lead said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity to help give broadcast journalism students like myself a grounding in a real-life television production environment.”
