Accessibility is the name of the game when it comes to the latest attempt to gain the interest of the youngest children in “how things work”.

Jet Set Go is an interactive exhibition aimed at children under eight and has just opened at the National Museum of Flight in East Fortune, East Lothian. It will run until July 29, offering a variety of activities based around an airport, from packing bags to “landing” a plane. Youngsters will be able to follow the process of passengers checking in, putting their luggage through baggage X-ray and getting on to the aircraft.

Among the museum’s many exhibits is one of the last Concordes, and an on-board tour of the supersonic aircraft is included free with entry. The exhibition is the creation of At-Bristol, one of the UK’s leading science centres.
