Diary readers will be familiar with the eccentric parliamentary questions of Tory Graham Brady. Among other things, the unfortunate school spokesman has probed the Government about the huge costs of a school minister’s visit to darkest Brazil... that only happened in his imagination.
Now, it seems, Mr Brady’s boss, shadow education secretary Damian Green, has caught Inane Question Syndrome. The reputation of his shadow team rose to new heights last week when he asked Estelle Morris “how much her department had spent on vouchers for three-year-olds by March 31”. Nursery vouchers were replaced five years ago. And they never applied to three-year-olds.
