A teenager suspended from school after being accused of starting a classroom fire has won a landmark fight for compensation. The Court of Appeal ruled that Abdul Hakim Ali’s human rights were violated because Lord Grey school, in Bletchley, Buckinghamshire, kept him on its roll for seven months but did not provide him with an education.
