For its “Weather by children” art competition, the World Meteorological Organisation is inviting children aged 4-16 from around the world to submit artwork by November 30. Their work should be inspired by one of these topics: the beauty of weather and clouds; the work of meteorologists and hydrologists; the instruments they use; the role of weather forecasting in disaster mitigation; and environmental issues related to weather, climate and water. The Met Office will select the UK’s winning images to submit to the international competition, and award each age-group winner with a Met Office Weather Presenting Kit or Met Office Satellite Poster Set. The best entries to the WMO competition will be included in a book on weather by children.
