HEALTH MATTERS SCHOOLS AWARD. The Association for Science Education and the Science Museum, sponsored by SmithKline Beecham, are inviting teams of students aged 11-16 to research health-related issues. The winning team will receive Pounds 1,000 for their science department and their entry will be displayed in the Science Museum’s Health Matters gallery. AN IMAGE FOR CHRISTMAS
The Imperial Cancer Research Fund needs original pictures appropriate for reproduction as corporate Christmas cards. Entrants can submit up to five works each accompanied by a Pounds 7.50 registration fee (the fifth is free) by May 26. The 12 winners will have their designs included in the corporate Christmas catalogue, and will receive a 2p royalty for every card sold of each design and Pounds 100 of Daler-Rowney art materials. YOUNG IMAGES . . . TELLING IT AS IT IS
Northamptonshire is running an arts project which allows young people aged 13-25, including those with disabilities, to express their views about life in the 90s through textiles, jewellery, painting, sculpture and computer graphics, closing date May 26.
Entries will be judged in two age groups and four categories -graphic art, two-dimensional and 3D work, and live-artinstallations - and the best will win cash prizes and be included in a summer touring exhibition. Entry forms and details: Youth Service, 01604 236315.
