Young Historians has secured funding for a GCSE History Prize to reward excellence in local studies coursework in 2001. It is likely to be of particular interest to schools taking the Schools History Project, History Around Us module. Ope to people of all ages, it includes tailored incentive schemes for schools. Participants are invited to submit a photograph either taken by themselves or from the family album, accompanied by a caption of up to 100 words. Categories are: childhood, fashions, inventions, town and country life, war and peace and year 2000. Closing date: July 21.
