* For its Young at Art competition, The National Trust requires young people aged under 15 to take a fresh look at the wildlife in their local environment and present it in striking ways artistically. Closing date: October 29. The winners will be announced in the autumn on the BBC children’s art television programme “SMart”. Children are invited to send for a free activity pack full of environmental facts and figures, puzzles, quizzes and games, and, having digested the contents, complete a word search and answer four easy questions.
