An OECD report into the UK’s school system has said that an over-reliance on national tests and league tables produces “perverse incentives” and “raises several concerns”. The study was supportive of the Coalition’s reform agenda for England’s schools, but warned the Government to “overcome” the shortcomings of national testing and tables.
