The National Association of Music Educators’ annual conference will be held at Warwick University, September 22-24. Speakers include Christina Coker, chief executive Youth Music, Steve Margiotta, Qualifications and Curriculum Authority, and Richard Stilgoe with Orpheus Centre apprentices. Workshops include music and the deaf, singing in the oral tradition for key stage 3, improvisation and inclusion at KS2 and 3, and gumboot dancing. Round-table sessions will explore whole-class instrumental teaching and the work of orchestras in education. Fees range from pound;75 (one day) to pound;395 residential.
