* The Royal Institution of Great Britain has been running mathematics masterclasses for Year 8 or 9 students all over the country since 1980. It has now embarked on a similar programme for primary children. Normally selected from school recommendations, students are invited to attend a series of five to 10 Saturday classes involving formal and informal workshops.
