Historical Association members are invited to its annual conference on “The Voice of History”, being held April 7-10 at York University. “Pride of Place” is the theme of the Geographical Association’s annual conference and resources exhibition at Birmingham University, April 17-19. Gain new ideas on environmental education at the free Earthwatch Millennium Conference being held at the University Examination Schools, Oxford, April 15-16. Building on the environmental charity’ Millennium Fellowship Programme, speakers include Earthwatch scientists such as Don Eaton on “Brazil’s rainforest wildlife”, Dr Munir Virani on “Raptors of the Kenyan rift valley”; and Peter Corkeron on “Queensland Dolphins”. On the Saturday evening, renowned conservationist, wildlife author and film-maker, Professor David Macdonald, is giving a free public lecture on “Kalahari meerkats to Oxford foxes - thinking globally and acting locally”.
