DATA is holding its annual Design and Technology Education Conference and AGM from July 4 to 5. The event at the Warwick Hilton will feature speaker Barbara Sexton, who is British Female Inventor of the Year, and workshops and seminars covering everything from using whiteboards, cad cam and food technology to textiles, initial teacher training and special educational needs. A suppliers exhibition will also feature the latest Damp;T resources.

Measuring the viscosity of yoghurt and avoiding chocolate bloom are among the topics covered in a food biosciences workshop for A and AS-level teachers at Reading University, July 9 to 10. The course includes practical exercises and demonstrations, opportunities to meet graduates working in the food industry, and information about degree programmes in food biosciences suitable for your students.
