The Geographical Association International Committee is organising a study tour to Kenya for geography educators, July 24-August 15. Led by Dr Kevin Cook, St Mary’s College, Twickenham, it will include visits to Nairobi, game parks and development projects in the region. Fee: pound;1,995.

In the run-up to World Water Day, March 22, the WaterAid charity is aiming to raise pound;50,000 through its Buckets of Pennies for Buckets of Water Appeal. An accompanying pack for schools includes fundraising ideas, posters and much more. A video is also available. COMPETITION
For the “Weather in the News” school competition, pupils are invited to design a backdrop for Sky News’ weather broadcasts by March 17. Four winning classes will have weather forecasts broadcast live from their school and be given a masterclass by Francis Wilson and Lisa Burke on weather presenting and building a weather instrument.
