"Sensational geography" is the theme of the Geographical Association's annual conference and exhibition at the University of Manchester, April 18-20. Lectures and workshops will explore ways of using the senses to appreciate the "sensationally diverse world we live in, and the power and beauty of the physical world". Speakers include Professor Danny Dorling on "Neighbourhood segregation in Britain", a research report showing that poverty and wealth, rather than ethnicity and religion, are polarising society.
