The publication of an article by a serving HMI reacting to the personal views of his chief inspector (“Fair play in regulating faith sector”, Platform, TES January 28) may be making a virtue out of necessity but it is a virtue nevertheless. Christopher Schenk is to be congratulated and so perhaps David Bell should be, too. Such an occurrence would not have happened under a previous Ofsted regime.
