Pupils are learning Cornish pasty-making as part of a GCSE in manufacturing. The course includes a 12-week programme covering the entire process, from sourcing the ingredients to marketing. Pupils have to come up with their own variations on the meat and potato filling. The course was put together by Fowey community college near Bodmin, Cornwall, in conjunction with the Proper Cornish Food Company. (“Work that’s as easy as pies”, TES magazine)
