With the country on lockdown and teachers on the front line trying to get to grips with remote learning, the need to appreciate uplifting moments has become more important than ever.

Tes put out a message to the virtual #TwitterStaffroom with a request for readers to share their highlights of the week, and the results have been inspiring.

At Roade Primary School in Northampton, teachers and their families created their own rendition of Lou Reed’s Perfect Day, featuring clips of them trampolining, feeding pet rabbits and playing chess.

And another teacher posted an image of Richardson Endowed Primary school in Derbyshire, where pupils had painted and displayed a banner stating “At the end of every storm is a rainbow of hope”.

Another group of primary school teachers have created their own TikTok dance for families to copy and upload at home.

We have tried to keep calm and cheer the children up with story telling. We have even created a TicToc dance that families are copying and uploading to our social platforms! @tes pic.twitter.com/Ybcopfys40

Those nostalgic for Neil Buchanan’s Art Attack could try a virtual art class on drawing an angry dog:

Dogs were a popular subject for budding artists, with teacher Laura Fazackerley receiving this hand-drawn sketch of her pet from a Year 11 student:
