Join the Tes news team as we discuss the new Department for Education guidance for schools reopening in September, which headteachers have described as logistically “mind-boggling”.

We talk about some of the problems associated with it, including that clinically vulnerable teachers could be asked to return to work, and that schools will not receive any extra funding to implement safety measures.

We also talk about our latest stories on cash for school buildings, including the news that the DfE’s capital budget has twice been cut recently, which would suggest that the department’s £1 billion school building fund announced on Monday may not be as immediately attractive as it first appeared.
