PARENTS who wrap their babies tightly in warm clothing in winter are putting the child’s life at risk, by increasing the

possiblity of cot death, says new research from the Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths.

Sara Levene, a paediatrician who advisesthe foundation, said it was an old wives’ tale that you have to keep babies very warm. Overheating could disrupt a baby’s ability to control its own body temperature.
