OPEN MUSEUM COURSES

The National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, is running a range of short courses in its new Leopold Muller lecture theatre. Subjects include: ship design (on Tuesday mornings); “Infamy and ignominy” about great naval scandals (on Wednesday mornings); film, location and archive (October 4); how to trace your ancestors (November 9); and charting the oceans: navigation and hydrography (November 21). TEACHING HANDWRITING, READING AND SPELLING SKILLS

This autumn THRASS coursesseminars will be held at several venues including: Nottingham education authority, October 11; the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham (with the Down’s Syndrome Association), October 12; the Teachers, Governors and Parents Show, London Arena, Docklands, October 17-19; Cheshire education authority, October 22; Manchester Metropolitan University, November 8; Lincolnshire education authority, November 13; and Kingston-upon-Hull education authority, December 2.
