A teacher who was assaulted twice by a boy at a special school for difficult children was legally entitled to go to the police, the High Court has ruled. Judges rejected a test case that assistant head Ian Corcoran should have accepted minor assaults as part of the job at Capenhurst Grange School in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, for pupils with emotional, behavioural and social problems. The judges dismissed an appeal by a pupil found guilty of assaulting the teacher.
