Creative arts - Homecoming inspiration

A competition designed to unleash young people's creative instincts, whatever their talents, has been launched as part of the Homecoming 2009 celebrations.

Scotland Me, run by the Scottish Qualifications Authority, aims to attract entries which fit into one of the five Homecoming themes: Robert Burns; great Scottish minds and innovations; ancestry; golf and whisky. The creative work could be a piece of music, a poem, a short story, art, photography, a design or a research project. Anything else which is judged to be "creative, inspirational and stimulated by the themes of Homecoming Scotland 2009" will be accepted.

Entries are welcome from individuals and class groups. Winners will be invited to the SQA Star Awards ceremony in October. The closing date is June 30.
