Chris Woodhead, the chief inspector of schools, is keen to be seen as holding credible views, so it is unwise of him to indulge in so many personal attacks on professors, the local education authorities and his political masters (“Chief inspector targets professors”, TES, February 27).
Many of them are too highly regarded for so much mud to stick, and sooner or later it will be difficult to believe anything that he says.
And that would be a pity.
