Cricket Scotland is offering teachers the chance to get on the first rung of the coaching ladder by hosting a five-week UK level one coaching award at the National Cricket Academy in Ravelston, Edinburgh.

The course starts on Monday, October 23 (6pm-9pm), and runs on successive Monday evenings until November 20. Contact Cricket Scotland (tel 0131 313 7420) for details.

Last month, 20 teams of boys and girls from all over Scotland took part in the national under-10 kwik cricket festival at North Inch, Perth. “All of the young cricketers gave their all and it was great to see their skills develop throughout the day,” said Pete Steindl, of Cricket Scotland.
