Teachers and school support staff in Croydon, south London, will stage a half-day strike on Monday in protest at expected redundancies caused by a shortfall in education funding.
Members of the National Union of Teachers and Unison, the support staff union, are taking the action following warnings from the council that up to 160 posts could be lost. More than 1,000 teachers, support staff and parents are expected to gather at Oval primary, Cherry Orchard Road, Croydon, for a rally at 2.30pm and then march to the town hall.
