Pupils are being encouraged to engage in the climate change debate through a new play that began touring schools this month.
The Silencer, the latest production from Y touring theatre company, confronts the truth about global warming by exploring its impact on a leading scientist and his family.
The initial tour itinerary includes more than 25 schools, where 14 to 16-year-olds will be encouraged to participate in an interactive workshop.
Built around the play, it will involve electronic polling of their views on and knowledge of climate change.
