PHYSICS: Facts and Practice for A-level. By Chris Carter. Oxford University Press pound;8.
This workbook makes a change from standard A-level physics fare. It is split into 28 modules, with a table explaining how individual modules fit into each exam board specification. Each module consists of a double-page factual spread, followed by another of tests - a shorter recall test and a slightly longer (and more useful) concept test. The idea is that pupils write their answers in the book, but they will need the handwriting equivalent of 10-point font size to manage it. Answers are supplied. Thin and inexpensive - worth encouraging students to buy their own copy.
