A former music teacher at Harris Academy in Dundee has won his case against unfair dismissal. Graeme Stevenson, aged 29, was sacked last October for gross misconduct after a girl aged 14 developed a crush on him. The tribunal ruled that Dundee City Council had not been even-handed in its treatment of the case. But it only awarded Mr Stevenson Pounds 6,635, half the sum he was claiming. The General Teaching Council decided that Mr Stevenson should not be struck off after its disciplinary committee demanded to see the girl’s full diary, an abridged version of which played a crucial part in the decision of Dundee’s disciplinary hearing.
