North-east secondary heads might have been a tad confused at their Aberdeen University conference (page four). They heard Carol Fitz-Gibbon of Durham University slam trauma counselling as a waste of time.

As they returned to their campus bedrooms, they heard the news on television of an unfortunate death on the grounds. “Students have been offered counselling,” said the announcer.
