YMCA has launched a resource about building relationships with vulnerable children and working to improve their self-esteem.

The materials, Achieve Your Potential, grew out of a project that aimed to engage with children in upper primary deemed to be at risk later in life.

YMCA wanted to build relationships with these children that would allow them to create an open door for support and intervention in the future.

The programme, which lasts for eight weeks and is aimed at P6-7 pupils, includes exercises and games designed for three main purposes:

- to build confidence and self-esteem;

- to have fun;

- to build relationships with leaders.
