Each year Bill Gates, co-chair of the Bill amp; Melinda Gates Foundation, publishes an Annual Letter describing his priorities for the year ahead and the opportunities for incredible progress in health and development globally.
To coincide with this year’s publication, the foundation is asking students to write their own `Annual Letters’ to send to Bill. These letters can be anything between 300-500 words, and should describe what the author believes will create a better world and how it might be achieved. While the emphasis is on big problems and big solutions, students should also share how they may contribute, whether through their career, volunteering, or pioneering their own idea.
Letters received before January 25 may be included on the Gates Foundation’s web site or other materials. In addition, Bill Gates will select some of the best letters to be published in the January 27 edition of TES. Please email letters to: annualletter@gatesfoundation.org with the subject line “TES letter”.All letters emailed will receive a response. For letters received after January 25, opportunities for student engagement will continue throughout the year.
