Pupils at a secondary in Manchester will soon have the same teacher for every class in a bid to raise exam results. The primary-style move at St Thomas Aquinas school in Chorlton will mean 10 “superteachers” spending the whole day with groups of 20 pupils aged 11 to 14. From September, they will teach around half the classes alone, but for more specialist subjects they will accompany their pupils to lessons.
