I was pleased to read Mike Kent’s article on the value of teaching assistants (“Protect the army of TAs”, 16 March). Sadly, his views are not echoed by many of his colleagues and the hostility with which we are often greeted by teachers can be a greater obstacle to learning than any special educational needs. Teachers, make friends with your TA.
