(Photograph) - STEPHEN O’Neill will be paying his own wages when he starts work as a trainee teacher in Bedfordshire next term. The 47-year-old had hoped to earn pound;13,000 a year on the Graduate Teacher Programme after being made redundant from his job as a fashion designer. But bad luck and red tape mean he has ended up paying Gothic Mede lower school to employ him in order to keep his training place.
