Diary - Hat trick

Michael Jackson's gloves, Elton's tiaras, Diana's dresses - and now Chesley Sullenberger's hat.

The man known as "Sully" to his friends is joining an illustrious list of celebrities whose possessions have been auctioned off - and this time schools are the winners.

Mr Sullenberger was the airline pilot whose forced landing in the Hudson River in New York, after a bird strike put the engines out of action, made him a national hero earlier this year.
