Everyone has heard of the carrot and stick approach, but this is really making of a meal of it.

A school in Stoke-on-Trent is about to become one of the most improved in Britain after bribing pupils with pizzas and fish and chips if they attended revision sessions.

Teachers at the school in Bucknall tried the scheme last November and now school chiefs predict overall GCSE results will rocket by nearly a quarter this year.
