As the key players in the world’s major financial markets try to find their feet amid the post-apocalyptic rubble left by the global recession, a team of Glasgow pupils could show ‘em how it’s done.
Five teenagers from St Ninians High School, Giffnock, ended a spell on the trading floor with a notional fund of #163;59,000 to win a Scotland-wide market challenge. The event, organised by Skills Development Scotland, aimed to give pupils an understanding of how financial markets work.
Whether the winning pupils will want to boast about their success in this banker-unfriendly climate, however, is another matter.
