Highland Council, in partnership with the the Scottish Interactive Technology Centre, has launched a Highland video podcasting service to support Intermediate 1 biology, Advanced Higher geography and Advanced Higher physics.

As Highland develops more online digital courses, these will become available for schools and pupils to use. The move follows the success of Biology Online, a digital course run for Highland schools.

The course allows pupils to watch their online teacher guide them through the lessons. Most lessons last about five minutes, then pupils can download a worksheet to go over what they have been taught. They can download presentations that take them through the main points of the lesson. At the end, there are links to complete some online activities, tests and quizzes.

Topics include health and technology, bio-tech industries, and growing plants.
