“Alternative worlds” is the theme of a non-residential conference on children’s literature to be held at Brighton University, April 10-11.

Speakers include children’s authors Pat Hutchins, and Philip Pullman, author of Northern Lights which won the 1996 Carnegie Children’s Book award. There will also be workshops on practical storytelling, drama, using literature in school classrooms, poetry, writing for children and the importance of picture books. Fee: Pounds 65.
