Do heads get your vote?

THERE is a week left for senior managers to voice their opinion on proposals for a compulsory national professional qualification for new headteachers.

The Department for Education and Skills says: "Strong school leadership is essential to the success of all schools. Good heads hold the key to unlocking the potential of pupils, all school staff and the school community. It is vital that those aspiring to headship receive high quality professional training, development and support."
