A NEW campaign highlighting dangers to young people in the home was launched by doctors this week.

Accidents are the most common cause of death among children over one and almost three young people die in the UK each week from accidents in the home. Children from unskilled, poorer familie are five times more likely to die than their richer peers.

Leaflets in doctors’ surgeries will give advice on accident prevention. The campaign is being run by the Doctor-Patient Partnership.

Reports compiled by Jon Slater, with the help of the National Children’s Bureau.
