Don’t come dancing

A tale reaches us of derring-do at a staff show. Good taste does not permit full details - suffice to say, a baldy depute head found himself, Darren Gough-like, in a skit of Celebrity Come Dancing. After much glitter and twirl, the sketch descended inevitably into staff dancing to Village People’s “YMCA”, complete with arm movements for each of the letters.

Meeting the adoring (some mistake? Ed) crowds of pupils as the bell sounded, our twinkle-toed prancer was taken aback by the commendable frankness of one of his sixth-years.

“See, sir, when you did that YMCA dance - you looked kind of dyslexic.”

Back to the day job then?
