Dover Museum is a new local history and archaeology museum housed in the White Cliffs Experience Complex. Displays include: material from the Stone and Bronze Ages and Roman and Saxon periods, Britain’s oldest shipwreck, and models of a Saxon man and woman. Special history days, resource packs and artefact loans are available to schools. Pupils can also visit the Dover Gaol to witness the stories of prisoners and their gaolers and discover what Victorian prison conditions were really like. Special schools’ days each term include combined visits to the Gaol and Maison Dieu (Town Hall). Details: Kim Norton, 01304 202723.
