Aspiring primary teachers in the south-west will no longer be forced to move north for their one-year postgraduate course. A joint venture between Dumfries and Galloway Council and Strathclyde University will allow local authority staff to train teachers with the university providing staff development support, quality assurance and ratification of awards.
